19-year old Tara Hoyos Martinez, born to Colombian parents living in England, was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2010 at an event held in Birmingham on May 2nd. Tara, a student of Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University, will compete in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.

The lovely latina progressed through the qualification rounds of the Miss Great Britain contest, seeing off hundreds of competitors with her startling beauty to be crowned the national winner.
Hoyos-Martinez is a student of Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University and plans on studying a post-graduate course to become a surgeon.

Tara is a 19-year-old born and bred Londoner. Currently studying Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Once she has finished her Bachelor of Scinece degree, she intend to purse a post-graduate course in Medicine, with a view to specialising in surgery. One of her main objectives for this choice in career is to be able to improve the health service in less-developed countries and make it more readily to those less fortunate. She is a very humble and loving, yet ambitious and extroverted person with a lot of integrity and drive to succeed. She is very passionate about making a stand for strong, determined, like-minded woman. She considers herself a well-rounded individual with her interests including dance and theatre, as well as literature, science and global affairs. She loves to learn, not only of intellectual matters but also about people and society; another quality she believes fundamental for any potential role model is the ability to cultivate a life for yourself around strong moral values of foundations. Her parents taught her this and she is eternally grateful to them. The Miss Universe Great Britain 2010 Pageant
The Miss Universe Great Britain 2010 will be held on May second at a location in Birmingham. It’s organised by Vibe Models Company. After a month search with the Vibe Models team visiting Glasgow, Cardiff, Birmingham and London, the young women who will take part in the final of Miss Universe GB have been chosen. Around 50 women from England, Scotland and Wales will compete for the coveted title. Proceeds from the competition will go to The Joshua Foundation.
At the end of the pageant, Clair Cooper, Miss Universe GB 2009 will crown her successor. The new beauty queen Miss Universe GB 2010 will represent The United Kingdom in Miss Universe 2010 competition.
